Do you think that it should be made mandatory that for every 10 minutes of bad, miserable or depressing news, there should be 1 minute of happy, feel good news?

For example a report on good things that people are doing around the world, or in our communities, some positive news or invention. There must be loads of stuff going on around the the world, but it feels like there is nothing, that as a human race we are failing at every turn. Let’s see news articles where good people are doing good things for others humans or animals.

I find the world mentally hard and all it makes me want to do is cut off from society, which is in itself in healthy as humans are naturally social animals and need human and animal contact.

But good news doesn’t sell! I have a local social media thread where hundreds of locals are connected to it, they talk about loads of stuff, post feel-good pictures up and also have big moans about local issues.

The feel-good stuff gets about 10 likes and no comments, whereas the moan and groan gets hundreds of comments all having a whinge! The reality is, people love to be miserable, it’s like we get some sort of kick out of it.

Moaning has become a national sport! :doh

Did you know there are some new channels that are all about good news?

They do usually try to end the news on a lighter note but you are in control of what you read or listen to so just tune into the good stuff :love_heart:

I love it! I had no idea these existed :applouse: I try and bring a little happiness to my day, by bringing a little happiness to others. For example; If I’m in a queue at a cafe, and the person in front orders a coffee, I will pay for it, and tell them to pass on the kindness to someone in their day.

Now, word of warning, young people don’t like this, they find this suspicious. So I tend to be ageist (I know, I know! :ne_nau:) as they are more accepting and to be honest, it really brings a smile to their face, which in turn makes me happy.
I hear the price, decide if I can afford it and with my card already in hand, jump in to pay!

Oooh I do hope to find you in front of me in the queue. What a wonderful gesture :love_heart:

I think social media is just a platform for moaners and it does get you down so I tend to avoid it!

I think it is good to do nice things for others, this makes me happy and them happy. I’m not sure what will happen with society in the future, but it seems to be heading in the wrong direction. Maybe more people should go out of their way to bring joy and it will become a movement that people will want to follow.
