Has anyone tried this little gadget? There are various types available, with red or blue lights. This one has both colours. The blue light is for acne and the red light is for wrinkles. My interest in this gadget is for the blue light. It's not cheap at £240. I would be interested to hear from anyone how has tried this either at home or in a salon.

I've never tried one, but they have been on the market for quite some time now, there must be some science behind the colours, but I don't know what.
Have you considered going to a skin specialist and seeing if they do these light treatments, if they do it might worth having one or two sessions, see how you get on with it, and then consider paying out for a home version.

The blue light kills the bacteria in the skin which Feeds off the oils glands in the skin which leads to the acne and inflammation and redness.
This has been found to be effective, but how effective these home versions are compared to the professional lights, I couldn't say.

If the blue light kills off the bacteria, why don't you just use something that kills off bacteria in the skin? surely it will be a lot cheaper.

Maybe the idea is not to use products on the skin? Lemon juice is a natural antimicrobial, it might be worth trying something like that on you acne prone areas.

I think it is more important to consider what goes in your mouth. Be critical of your diet and see where you can be stricter on your diet, I understand dairy is terrible for causing skin problems.

I totally agree with you Nancy. My daughter eats a lot of dairy products and has terrible acne all over her upper body and face. I think drinking a lot of water is very good for your skin and a healthy diet. It really does come from within.
